Drinks to Help you Sleep Better

When it comes to rest, sometimes you just can’t fall asleep.

If that sounds like something you deal with, then this article is for you!

Everyone Needs Sleep

Sleep is important. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t have to do it for 8 hours a day.

Sleep helps our bodies recover from the day before. It helps give our immune system a boost so we can fight disease. It helps us think straight and keeps cravings for junk food at bay.

The fact is, we just need sleep.

And sometimes it’s hard to get that sleep. But just because you have a hard time falling asleep doesn’t mean you need to freak out. Sometimes a nice, soothing drink is all you need.

Different Drinks To Help You Sleep

If you’re looking for a nice drink that’ll help you relax and possibly fall asleep, try one of these suggestions.

Cherry juice - Cherry juice, specifically tart cherry juice, has been shown to help some people feel sleepy because of certain chemical compounds in it. If you look at a lot of the all-natural, organic sleep aids they’ll have some tart cherry juice in them. Try taking a shot of tart cherry juice or mixing it with something non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated.

Chamomile tea - Chamomile tea is probably one of the most popular herbal teas ever. It has a pretty mild flavor and a lot of people drink it at night because they find that the soothing warm tea chills them out at night.

Warm milk - Warm milk is an older sleep treatment. When you warm up milk, it brings the sugar out of the milk and makes it taste sweeter. You can add a pinch of sugar if you want to make it even more so, but a lot of people find that warm milk helps them catch some extra Zzzzs at night.

Mint tea - Mint is usually thought of as a really strong flavor. Like, good luck drinking water while chewing mint gum. But mint tea is actually more soothing. It’s usually sweeter than other mint-flavored things like candy or toothpaste. If you’re lucky enough to find a mint-licorice tea, jump on it. Trust us.

Lavender tea - Lavender is used in a lot of essential oils to help people feel calm. They use lavender tea for the same reason. Plenty of people find lavender tea to be really soothing and great for a pre-sleep nightcap.

Some of these drinks have chemical compounds in them that help encourage a sense of calm that’ll help you sleep better. Others just taste great and will help you destress. But whether there’s actual science behind each of these drinks or if they just make you feel good in general, the end goal is a good night’s sleep. And we’re here for that.

A relaxed-you is a you that can fall asleep. Which makes you a happy camper.
