With Beautyrest®, the rest is history. Introduced in 1925, the Simmons® Beautyrest® product soon became the toast of fashion, celebrity and glamour. Everyone from Henry Ford and Thomas Edison to Eleanor Roosevelt and Dorothy Lamour praised the virtues of the Pocketed Coil® springs – and the sleep that came with it. In the 1950s, ads showed that even circus elephants could take comfort on a Beautyrest® mattress. As the awards and plaudits rolled in, Simmons responded by constantly innovating: adding strength in heavy gauge steel, luxury in high performance foams, comfort in elegant pillow tops and support in re-engineered foundations. In 1995, the now famous Bowling Ball™ demonstration captured the interest of a whole new generation. Today, the Beautyrest® line continues to make history with a range of new and improved Beautyrest® models for every lifestyle, highlighted with the addition of premium foam layers and the creation of the luxurious Beautyrest Black™ product line.
